I’ve worked here for 27 years, starting in Accounts, then the Systems Helpdesk and then Customer Services. After having children, I returned on hours that fitted around my family. I increased my hours as the children got older. This flexibility was really important to me at that time.

There are lots of people issues in my job, which I really enjoy solving – so I jumped at the opportunity to do a secondment in HR. Although it pushed me out of my comfort zone, it also increased my confidence.

You have to be resilient in Customer Services, but there’s great support from the team. You also need to be patient and a good communicator. I love the variety; it makes life interesting.
