Unlike in many larger businesses, our small HR team has the chance to get involved in a diverse range of activities. In one day, I can be working on succession planning with a director, an employee engagement survey, recruitment for a new store, union negotiations and our diversity strategy. I’m passionate about WHSmith and love that what I do makes a difference, whether it’s putting in place my idea for a Wellbeing at Work Week or advising someone who has a work problem.

Throughout my time at WHSmith, I’ve been supported by people who’ve believed in me. I’ve worked hard, pushed myself and been open about my desire to progress. This has opened doors for me and I hope will continue to do so.
