I joined in 1994 on a logistics training programme. I wanted to see tangible results and play a part in getting something from A to B. At the end of the programme, I moved through a series of Distribution roles which led to Supply Chain Planning.

I am able to touch so many different parts of the business – and I still enjoy seeing stock arriving in stores! You’re given lots of responsibility, but you’re not on your own.

In fact, a big part of the job is talking to people and sharing ideas. You really need to be self-motivated. It’s less about the technical skills – those can be trained. If you’re hard-working and say ‘can I have a go’, it will happen.
