After graduating, I joined as a Sales Assistant and six months later progressed to Supervisor. Here I learnt all aspects of the day-to-day running of a store, before becoming Team Leader at Pindersfield Hospital, managing a larger team. This different type of store, with a bigger food offering and more constant peaks in store traffic offered a great learning experience.
After further promotion to Area Team Leader, I wanted to run my own store and looked to prove myself by taking on York’s Regional Rail Store. My hard work paid off when we won ‘Regional Rail Store’ of the year.
I have developed my skills through the completion of workshops and store management programmes as part of the WHSmith Retail Academy, and have recently secured my promotion to Store Group Manager for my area.
