About the Role:Join WHSmith Travel’s growing team as a Business Development Manager. You will be focused primarily on managing and expanding our hospital store portfolio across your designated region in the UK. You’ll be accountable for developing and maintaining great relationships with our existing NHS Landlords, winning space for delivery of new stores across our current Hospital estate, as well as sourcing opportunities with new Landlords, negotiating leases, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver successful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow WHSmith’s Hospital store estate through development of landlord partnerships, securing new space from tenders, and actively building a pipeline of new business.
- Identify, through strategic landlord relationships, new sales, profit, and store growth opportunities whilst monitoring competitors
- Take ownership of winning tender proposals, creating strong business cases, securing growth
- Collaborate with our Property, Construction, Retail Delivery teams, and external solicitors to support on-time store delivery and lease completion
What We’re Looking For:
- An outgoing enthusiastic personality, able to build relationships with differing internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Strong relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills
- A driven and results focussed individual, able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Commercially astute, with the ability to develop project-based P&L’s, with excellent attention to detail
- Retail experience and knowledge of the marketplace preferred
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
