Join our team at Cult Pens – the UK’s leading specialist retailer for fine writing instruments and stationery!

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Buyer to join our friendly team in Tiverton. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our unique and specialist product range, working with a wide network of suppliers and bringing the world’s best pens, pencils, and creative tools to our customers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Delivering and tracking performance against key commercial KPIs for sales and profitability.
• Understanding and curating a specialist category to build the optimum product assortment.
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships while exploring new and innovative products and brands.
• Working with the Business Director to develop and deliver the trade plan in line with the wider business strategy.
• Negotiating supplier terms and managing ongoing supplier performance and improvements.
• Collaborating with suppliers and the marketing team to plan and deliver engaging marketing campaigns.
• Helping to define pricing and promotional strategies to drive sales and margin growth.
• Developing and sourcing Cult Pens–branded products and exclusive ranges.
• Contributing to the annual budgeting and planning process.
• Managing website product launch plan
• Supporting marketing team with product set up and site merchandising

What we’re looking for:

• Proven buying or commercial experience, ideally within the stationery category (or a similar consumer goods environment).
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Confident communicator, able to influence effectively across teams and suppliers.
• Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
• Resilient, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• A great team player who enjoys collaborating to achieve shared goals.
