We now have a new permanent full-time opportunity for a Corporate Tax Manager. This role will be reporting into the Group Tax Manager who is responsible for the tax compliance and planning across our Group businesses.

Responsibilities of the role

Compliance and reporting

  • Completion of all UK corporate tax computations and returns
  • Preparation of the R&D claim to be included within the returns
  • Coordinating and liaising with third party advisors on the capital allowances claims to be included within the returns
  • Completion of Ireland and overseas branch returns
  • Assisting with the preparation of year end and interim tax workings, journals and disclosures, working closely with the Group Tax Manager and Group Finance
  • Liaising with external auditors to ensure timely completion of year end and half year reported tax numbers
  • Assistance with the implementation of the OECD BEPS Pillar Two rules;
  • Preparation of budget and forecast current and deferred tax numbers;
  • Working with Group Finance to prepare tax numbers and disclosures for all UK subsidiary statutory accounts
  • Preparing calculations for UK, Jersey and Ireland corporate tax payments and ensuring payments are accurately budgeted for and tracked
  • Assisting the Group Tax Manager with the management of the overseas compliance and reviewing returns prepared by advisors
  • Managing overseas tax payments, including review of proposed payments and ensure payments are accurately budgeted for and tracked
  • Dealing with tax enquiries from HMRC and overseas tax authorities
  • Supporting the Group Tax Manager with SAO obligations.

Transfer pricing

  • Ensuring the Group has robust transfer pricing procedures, documentation and inter-company agreements in place;
  • Preparation of Group transfer pricing calculations, working with UK and overseas finance teams;
  • Monitoring global transfer pricing updates and communicating any changes to policies to the business;
  • Preparation of Group’s Country by Country submissions to HMRC including managing overseas notification requirements.

Tax advisory

  • Assisting the Group Tax Manager with preparation, implementation and documentation of Group Tax Strategy;
  • Producing and maintaining tax summaries of overseas territories;
  • Advising business of global tax implications of transactions and influence decision makers to optimise tax efficiency;
  • Working with Group Finance and other Central Functions on capital structuring and cash repatriation for both proposed and existing entities within the Group;
  • Advising the Group on tax efficient ways of setting up new businesses and liquidating / dissolving companies;
  • Working with commercial teams on withholding tax requirements and documentation;
  • Working with commercial teams on stamp tax requirements and documentation;
  • Monitoring global tax developments and preparing impact analysis;
  • Ad hoc tax advisory e.g. tax accounting on acquisitions.

Requirements of the role

  • ACA and / or CTA qualified with 3-5 PQE (preferably with industry experience);
  • Experience of preparing UK corporate tax returns;
  • Experience of preparing group and statutory tax disclosures;
  • Experience of transfer pricing issues including UK and overseas requirements;
  • Knowledge and understanding of international tax systems;
  • Engaging and confident communicator;
  • Excellent PC skills including expert use of Microsoft Excel;
  • OneSource experience preferable.
