A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced technical and product development leader to define and build the future strategy and op model for a global travel retailer. Following the sale of the High St business, and as part of the ongoing strategy to grown own brand, WHSmith Travel is looking for a Head of Compliance and Product to shape the future of own brand across food and non-food categories. The brief includes defining the operating model, building a team and scoping the own brand strategy and policy framework for the future.
What You’ll Do
- Lead technical governance, risk, and compliance across all product categories
- Own product safety, quality and technical standards for food and non-food
- Develop and grow our Own Brand range and sourcing strategy
- Act as WHSmith’s subject matter expert on regulation, compliance, and product standards
- Lead and inspire a high-performing Technical, Safety and Product Development team
- Represent WHSmith externally with regulators and industry bodies
Who You Are
- Experienced technical leader within retail or manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of food and non-food compliance, BRCGS, HACCP, and UK legislation
- Skilled stakeholder manager with a collaborative, hands-on approach
- Passionate about product quality, innovation, and continuous improvement
