The Regional Sales and Operations Manager is a field based role, responsible for our southern region managing a team of Area Managers, you will support the strategy as ‘hub of the Highstreet’ which has delivered strong, consistent results over the years for the business and customer.
What you will be doing
People
- Influence and shape the People Strategy, impacting the plan to help you deliver exceptional people performance metrics and put people at the heart of decisions
- Lead and inspire through coaching, challenging, and empowering your Area Managers. You will create the conditions for your team to be their very best, with continuous development that elevates their strengths and potential. Showcasing the best talent
- Own and deliver a compelling talent strategy that delivers cross functional roles and work collaboratively with others to nurture and grow this talent for the future. You are responsible for every store having a succession plan, identifying key roles with key people being developed into them
Plan
- Deliver a culture of commercial excellence and incremental commercial opportunities through effective leadership, management and monitoring, you drive sales and seek for all sales opportunities
- To be accountable for safe and legal compliance, ensuring that this understood and delivered by your team, coaching, and empowering them to engage with support functions to achieve everyday compliance. Influencing through continuous feedback to shape the future
- To be accountable for costs, ensuring that expenditure is within budget, targets are met, and savings achieved where there is a risk to profit
Customer
- Making this a great place for our customers to shop and delight them with every visit
- The customer can feel the rigor and relentlessness your area team have for availability, stock management and processes. You create a culture of continuous improvement, advancing processes and inspiring change.
- Credible and impactful when influencing others to drive a decision or change for the good of the customer and profit. Using all tools and data available. Empowering teams to do the same
Who we are looking for
- Previous experience as a senior manager in a multi-site leadership role of large turnover units, including organisational design
- Accountability for £multi-million sales
- People management with generalist HR knowledge and experience
- Expert knowledge of retail trends and customer behaviour
- Collaborative leader of large teams with strong operational standards
- Commercially aware and comfortable analysing data
- Able to travel round the region visiting stores daily
