We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Treasury Coordinator to join our Group Treasury team at WHSmith’s office in Swindon. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in finance or treasury operations to take the next step in their career, working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a well-established high street and travel retail brand.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day treasury operations, including managing external payments, maintaining bank accounts, performing reconciliations, and assisting with internal cash reporting. You’ll also play a key part in maintaining our Treasury Management System and ensuring the smooth flow of funds across the business.
What you will be doing:
- Managing a variety of external payment types: CHAPS, SEPA, BACS, and wire transfers
- Supporting inter-company settlements and reconciliations
- Maintaining and testing the Treasury Management System (TMS)
- Managing and monitoring bank accounts, including account opening/closures
- Allocating and reconciling payments across multiple entities
- Supporting internal cash reporting and cash balance sheet management
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation issues
- Providing ad hoc support to the Treasury team and contributing to wider finance projects
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- Experience in a treasury, finance, or banking operations role
- Strong understanding of payment systems and types (e.g. BACS, CHAPS, SEPA)
- Experience of cash balance sheet management and accounts payable
- Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail
- Confident user of Excel and financial systems
Desirable:
- Experience using a Treasury Management System (TMS)
- Knowledge of inter-company accounting
- Background in retail or a multi-entity environment
