I've always enjoyed books and I used to come to WHSmith as a youngster to see the product. I always had warm feelings towards the business so when it came time to choose a career I couldn't think of anywhere better to start my journey.

Ismail's journey at WHSmith
My journey first started in 2019 as a Store Manager and now I am the Area Manager for Northern Europe managing 5 countries. It's challenging but rewarding. Covid gave me the opportunity to develop my skills and push myself to excel as it was a particularly challenging time calling for more thinking on my feet especially when continuing to open more stores in a such a climate. My hard work was noticed and I was able to develop to become an area manager.
