Hear Tarryn Knight’s Story

My journey at WHSmith started as a buying assistant for food and coffee in the UK Travel Team. I have been lucky enough to get lots of experience in different roles throughout Impulse categories. My last role in the UK Travel Team was in Confectionery where I was buying Bagged, Countlines and Block chocolate. 

I really enjoy traveling and being able to be based in a new part of the world allows you so much opportunity to explore places you would never get to otherwise. In the Australian business I started out as a junior buyer on the Health and Beauty category and I am now a Buyer on the Food, Chips and Healthy Snacking categories – almost coming full circle.

Just be ready to have to pick up a whole world of slang and new acronyms (it took me ages to get used to talking about ‘Chips’ and not ‘Crisps’ in Monday trade and I still sometimes quote my figures in Pounds and not Dollars).
